The Third Belgrade Gymnasium

The Third Belgrade Gymnasium was established by the Republic of Serbia as a secondary education school. The Gymnasium provides general education and upbringing, and lasts four years. Ever since it was founded in 1859, the Third Belgrade Gymnasium has been one of the most prestigious high schools in Serbia. The admission requirements are very high and only the top-performing students are admitted. Dedicated and well-qualified staff ensure that students enjoy the challenge of aiming higher and achieving their very best. In the four-year-long learning process, students gain self-confidence and leave the school equipped as independent learners, fully prepared for university studies and ready to take their place as responsible 21st-century citizens. The majority of them go on to become notable achievers and prominent experts in their respective fields. Many of the renowned doctors, scientists, lawyers, artists once sat in the classrooms of our Gymnasium. The Third Belgrade Gymnasium nurtures international cooperation with schools, embassies and cultural centers through various projects and thus prepares students for challenges outside the classroom. The quality of our education and the support we provide to our students is paramount to us. Every school year, the students of the Third Belgrade Gymnasium top the ranking lists at both national and international competitions and festivals in various fields. We are also involved in various kind of student’s exchange, job shadowing, especially in bilingual sector. What also sets the Third Belgrade Gymnasium apart are activities aimed at enhancing students’ entrepreneurial skills such as annual events Gimnazijada – a sports competition of Belgrade gymnasiums, and the Film Festival. Our school has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2020, on the occasion of its 160th anniversary, it was awarded the Sretenje Order of the second degree for special merits for the Republic of Serbia. The school is attended by about 1,250 students divided into 42 classes. Subjects are taught in Serbian, except for bilingual classes, where subjects are taught in Serbian and French, i.e. in Serbian and Italian. The school follows a curriculum outlined in the Rulebook on the Curriculum for Gymnasiums (Official Gazette of RS, no. 88/17, 27/18 – other law, 10/19 and 6/20). There are two main branches: mathematics and physical sciences (4 classes), and social sciences and languages (6 classes). Two of humanities and languages classes in each grade receive education in Italian i.e. French. The third branch, computer science and informatics, was introduced in 2019 and enrolls one class of students with a talent and special interest in IT.


Lykeio Archangelou Apostolos Markos

In March 2003, the newly built Lyceum of Archangelos "APOSTOLOS MARKOS" opened its gates to house the 516 children who already attended Unified Lyceum of Archangelos. It is built according to European standards, with modern design and has, among others, 22 Classrooms, 19 Workshops / Special Rooms, Amphitheater, Multimedia Room, Library, Multipurpose Room, Elevator etc. Despite its short life, the School has presented remarkable work in educational, social, cultural and scientific fields. Its main activities are: to offer comprehensive knowledge preparing students for their Academic or professional orientation, to promote and develop health, intellectual and ethical individuals, to create competent and democratic citizens, to consolidate national identity, cultural values and global ideas through a variety of national and European programs (Erasmus+, SEMEP, Young Innovators, Young Journalists, Recycling etc.) Our school participates in various programs, as well and competitions and invites teachers and students to take part in these activities according to their interests. The purpose of our students' involvement in them is to develop democratic citizen’s attitudes. Students are expected to develop basic social skills, such as: communication, cooperation, social responsibility, self-discipline, respect, solidarity and empathy, both within and outside the school. Briefly, lifelong skills, valuable and necessary for achievements and success. Specifically, European projects focuses on the European dimension, which is promoted interdisciplinary and represents one of the basic objectives of this school. Its basic goals are to foster “European consciousness” and share positive attitudes towards European community. The School has developed abundant activities such as celebrating European days, participating in the European Language Label, undertaking European projects (Erasmus +) etc. General Secondary Education in Cyprus is a six-year educational program for students between the ages of 12 and 18. It is made up of the Gymnasium school (Lower Secondary School), where the main concentration is a general humanistic education. Education is compulsory until the age of 15. From there students attend the Lykeio /Lyceum (Upper Secondary School), or Technical School (Vocational Education) which offer a more flexible educational system which provides them with various specializations depending on the inclinations, skills and interests of the students. Lyceum, the second three- year cycle, is provided to students aged 15-18. Students are offered comprehensive knowledge for academic or professional orientation and its curriculum includes cross-curricular programs (Health Education, Environmental Education, etc.) as well as a variety of extracurricular activities (excursions, visits, etc.) so to achieve a global and balanced development of the students’ personality.


High school- Josip Broz Tito Bitola

The high school "Josip Broz Tito" from Bitola is one of the oldest schools in the North Macedonia. It started working in 1892 as a high school for boys during the Ottoman Empire. Since 1945, it is the first high school in Macedonian language. The school offers general education and prepares students to continue their education for entry to universities in N. Macedonia, neighboring countries, but also in Europe and USA. First year students can choose to continue their education in three areas - natural sciences and mathematics, social and humanitarian group of subjects and languages and art subjects. There is also a bilingual class, in Macedonian and French. Every year, 204 new students are enrolled. More than 95 % of them successfully continue their education and become ICT, engineers, architects, doctors, teachers, historians, etc. Our school is well known for its numerous successes of teaching staff and students, for good interpersonal relations and extracurricular activities. The curricula and goals of our school are largely related to the topic of this project, we believe that this project will be accepted and very important for our students. The school has about 800 students who are educated with high quality, ready to continue their education at universities in the country or abroad. Special attention is paid to the sports activities of the students, their active participation in all activities of the local community, youth activities, music, and theater. They are also involved in the activities of the Red Cross, the Scout Association, environmental organizations. Through the exchange of students with Switzerland, Israel and France, the awareness of European values, community and respect for other cultures and peoples is encouraged and they represent their country and culture with dignity. In the high school "Josip Broz Tito" there are 800 students from 15 to 19 years old, divided into 24 classes. The interest for enrollment in our school is very high, so more than 50 students fail to enroll every year. Classes are held in Macedonian, and English is compulsory for all students, at B-1 level. All students are required to have a second foreign language, German or French, and there is also a bilingual French language class. Students choose to continue their education in three areas - natural sciences and mathematics, social and humanitarian group of subjects and languages and art subjects. Students are involved in a number of environmental actions to preserve the environment, research on water, air and soil pollution. All students have ICT skills, and many of them participate in international student exchanges and e-twining projects. Visits to museums, theater, film festivals, and opera are regularly organized.
